Athletic Trainer treats and prevents athletic injuries by developing therapies to reduce pain and improve mobility under the direction of a physician. Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing. Being an Athletic Trainer may require state license to practice. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in exercise science, sports science or equivalent. Additionally, Athletic Trainer typically requires certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Athletic Trainer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Run and manage SISD training program and student trainers. Bachelor’s Degree required. Valid license from Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers required.
Valid certification from athletic training board of certification preferred CPR/FA/AED instructor, (willing to get if not already certified). Sports Medicine Instructor preferred.
