Typically requires a bachelor's degree in exercise science, sports science or equivalent. Additionally, Athletic Trainer typically requires certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Athletic Trainer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     The DOWNTOWN ATHLETIC CLUB is accepting applications for the following positions:
    • Personal Trainer
    • Strength and Conditioning Coach
    The DAC is a full-service athletic club with amenities such as sauna, steam room, hot tub, indoor track, fitness and lap pool, racquetball, squash, pickle ball and basketball court. We offer numerous programs including aquatic, group exercise, spin, yoga and pilates. Trainers and coaches need to have experience with individual and small group fitness training, knowledge of equipment, training programs and exercises. Strong sales and customer service skills required.
    Requirements:
    • Nationally recognized fitness certification (ACE, NASM, ISSA, NSCA, etc.)
    • 2 plus years of experience
    • Current CPR/First Aid
    • Hard work ethic, a growth mindset, and professional
    Preferred but not required:
    • NSCA, CSCS (or similar)
    • Degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology
    • Certified Nutrition Coach
    • Background and experience in Sports Performance / Sports Science
    • Certified Corrective Movement Specialist
    • Higher level specialty certification
    Position Summary:
    Trainers and coaches are responsible for providing various fitness services that offer members the ability to maximize workout efficiency, improve fitness, increase stamina, enjoy their fitness experience and improve their overall sense of well-being. They schedule and complete record keeping according to standard operating procedures. Trainers and coaches will spend the majority of their work week member facing, delivering personal training services, onboarding sessions, and building relationships with members. Our trainers and coaches are familiar with all aspects of Downtown Athletic Club operations.
    Job Duties and Responsibilities
    • Develops safe, professional, exciting and comprehensive personal training programs to ensure clients are satisfied with their workout program and remain motivated to attain their personal fitness goals
    • Monitors and instructs clients during personal training sessions on the safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength training equipment
    • Conducts fitness consultations for new clients including InBody testing, medical history, lifestyle questionnaire, and goal setting to assess and recommend personal training programs
    • Refers members to appropriate personal trainer level based on needs
    • Fulfills member service requirements such as fitness assessments and equipment operations, service desk duties and fitness equipment cleaning
    • Promotes and sells personal training programs and services
    • Completes all administrative requirements associated with each client’s fitness plan
    • Remains current on certifications and new trends in the industry
    Preference for trainers and coaches with at least 10 hours of availability through the week, during various business hours
    Pay range is between $20 - $30 per hour, based on experience and certifications.
    Potential pay increases are awarded based on the number of clients trained per pay period.
    Floor hours are paid at a rate of $13.50 per hour.
    Trainers and coaches who achieve and maintain fulltime status are eligible for Company Health Care, paid time off and 401(k).
