Athletic Trainer treats and prevents athletic injuries by developing therapies to reduce pain and improve mobility under the direction of a physician. Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing. Being an Athletic Trainer may require state license to practice. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in exercise science, sports science or equivalent. Additionally, Athletic Trainer typically requires certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Athletic Trainer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Athletic Trainer – Full-time position
The Athletic Trainer shall provide athletic training services to local college and high school students during daily practices and through scheduled contests and games. The Athletic Trainer also serves as a liaison between the family physicians and specialists, the school district, athletes and their parents. Additional services may be provided with Community Hospital rehabilitation services for patients or assisting in the orthopedics/sports medicine clinic.
