POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER - Heliospheric Physics

    Objectives of this Role:
    • Lead original scientific studies in heliospheric physics.
    • Participate in mission and instrumentation planning and development for future missions.
    • Develop new ideas that advances understanding of the physical processes in the inner heliosphere.
    • Collaborate with SwRI diverse research teams and publish in high impact, peer-reviewed journals.
    Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
    • Participate and carry out original research in experimental space physics.
    • Publish original research in peer-reviewed articles and present results at relevant meetings.
    • Support the development of instruments to be flown on upcoming heliophysics or planetary missions.
    • Interact with SwRI Staff engaged in a broad range of observational, computational, and theoretical research in the physics of the heliosphere.
    Requirements:
    • Requires a PhD in Space Physics, Plasma Physics or related field.
    • 1 years: Post PhD experience with IDL and Python.
    • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
    Special Requirements:

    This is a 2 year limited term assignment.
