Position Summary
The University of Southern Indiana is accepting applications forInstructor or Contract Assistant Professor of Physics (1-Year Temporary).
The Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education at the University of Southern Indiana (USI) invites applications for a one-year temporary, 9-month Instructor or Contract Assistant Professor position in Physics with a start date of August 2024.
Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be able to teach general physics lecture and laboratory courses for science and engineering, and organize and maintain laboratory equipment. In addition, the successful candidate may be asked to teach astronomy or physics courses for non-majors, or a physical science course for teaching majors.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Applicants for Instructor must hold a master's degree in Physics, Astronomy, or Astrophysics or a closely related field. Applicants with a doctoral degree in physics or closely related field will be considered for hire as a Contract Assistant Professor. The applicant must have teaching experience both in lecture and in laboratory settings.
