Description:The Department of Music at the University of Notre Dame seeks applicants for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Music Technology and Digital Media, beginning July 2024. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished composer, sound artist, musical programmer, performer/improviser, or any combination of these, and an active specialist in digital/electronic media and contemporary music. The Department is especially interested in candidates with a diverse range of interests and experience with a variety of musical traditions, as well as an ability to design and oversee facilities for research and pedagogy in electronic and computer music.
The Department seeks a dynamic artist and/or researcher with a developing national or international profile, as well as a teacher with a demonstrated record of excellence and a commitment to diversifying curricular offerings and programs in a liberal arts context. The successful candidate will teach a 2 2 course load, which may include introductory and advanced courses in music technology, digital music, composition, and courses of general interest to music majors and non-majors according to the candidate's interests and expertise. The candidate may also advise senior theses in the Department, or graduate theses for doctoral candidates in the Sacred Music Program at Notre Dame (SMND).
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent terminal degree, or complete all requirements for the degree by June 2024.
