    We are looking for a full-time Mechanical Engineer in our Anchorage office to be an integral part of the success of our company. The Mechanical Engineer will provide engineering design and management of mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and fuel systems work with city governments, federal agencies, and private corporations on a myriad of project types, including educational, commercial, health care, institutional, and industrial buildings and utility systems.

     

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Designs heating, ventilation and cooling systems, building and process controls, plumbing systems, and renewable energy systems.
    • Provides insight and expertise in sustainable design.
    • Works with a design team, including architects and other engineering disciplines, to create design plans, specifications, and engineering estimates.
    • Engages clients and provides support for marketing the CRW Mechanical Department.
    • Prepares scope and fee proposals for submittal to clients.
    • Manages scope, schedule and budget for successful projects.
    • Oversees work of junior staff and coordinates workloads with Department Lead.
    • Provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control for work prepared by other Mechanical Engineers at CRW.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability exercises initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems
    • Ability to work independently or with a team.
    • Able to travel to remote Alaskan communities periodically for limited site visits.
    • Ability to work with a diverse clientele.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited
    • Minimum 4 years experience in mechanical engineering.
    • Minimum 3 years active experience in arctic and cold climate engineering design.
    • Alaska Professional Mechanical Engineering License or ability to obtain it by comity within 6 months.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
    • Walking extended periods during site visits.
    • Ability to climb a ladder as needed to inspect above ceilings and other concealed areas.
