    Annual A. POSITION PURPOSE

    The Assistant Director of Online Legal Programs works to advance and complement the broad educational goals of the University. The Assistant Director supports the Director to implement programs, services and resources designed to increase JD and non-JD sources of revenue for the School of Law. The Assistant Director focuses on being the primary point of contact for students enrolled in hybrid and online programs. The Assistant Director will collaborate and interface with staff in departments including Student Services, Enrollment Management, Career Management, Bursar, Disability Resources, and IT to triage and resolve student issues throughout the entire student life cycle.

    The Assistant Director must work onsite during weekends when courses are scheduled for Flex JD and other hybrid students attending programs supported by the Online Legal Programs office. This is a full-time, position reporting to the Director of Online Legal Programs.

    B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Program Management

    Act as the primary point of contact for applicants, students and alumni interested/enrolled in educational programs under the auspices of the Office of Online Legal Programs including Flex JD and other programs for non-JD students.

    Manage admissions processes for non-JD students from prospect through matriculations including correspondence, maintenance of SLATE admission CRM and onboarding.

    Provide appropriate student services and decide when to escalate matters to another Law School or University business units in response to inquiries for assistance including course registration, alterations to program of study, petitions for graduation, disability resources, career services and other requests for student services.

    Coordinate student absenteeism and conduct issues with the Senior Assistant Dean for Student Services.

    Plan, manage and execute logistical elements such as food orders, space management in coordination with course schedule for students attending Flex and hybrid Law programs.

    Manage student enrollment, program communications, material distribution, online content management system and budgets.

    Supervise student employees.

    2. Program Logistics

    Manage third parties (e.g., transportation, hotel, catering, A/V services, etc.) for blended learning portions of program.

    3. Student and Faculty Services

    Provide high-touch, hands-on support to students and faculty during days and weekends when Flex JD and hyrbrid students are on-campus.

    Be present at in-person program activities, providing the highest level of customer care.

    Work cross-functionally with other Law School and University departments.

    C. PROVIDES WORK DIRECTION

    Supervise student assistants.

    D. QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Knowledge

    Knowledge of higher education administration, preferably in a law school.

    Knowledge of student services and admissions, preferably in a law school.

    Knowledge of the Silicon Valley technology industry and business environment.

    2. Skills

    Demonstrated success as a member of a cross-functional, collaborative team.

    Experience in forging collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as alumni, employers, and volunteers.

    Demonstrated experience with a wide range of communication strategies, including print, digital, and social media.

    Experience with SLATE, Workday and student services preferred.

    Sensitivity to the needs of diverse and multicultural constituencies.

    3. Abilities

    Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to work collaboratively.

    Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

    Excellent judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality.

    Attention to detail combined with ability to analyze and conceptualize at a high level of abstraction.

    4. Education

    BA/BS required

    JD or advanced degree in related field preferred.

    5. Years of Experience

    Minimum five years of experience working in higher education, corporation, law firm or other related setting required.

    Experience working in legal education preferred.
