General Objectives and Responsibilities:
Full time position with experience working on a variety of projects, including programming, conceptual design, schematic design, and design development. Experience in preparing drawings for schematic design and design development. Experience in preparing preliminary design studies and adaptations of alternatives for review, contract documents including details, sections, elevations, and schedules. Produces amendments, addenda, and bulletins. Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, and legibility. Exercises creative judgment and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials, including design sketches, renderings, models, and graphics. Assists in preparing adaptations and technical alternatives for project team review. Knowledge of architectural detailing and current construction standards along with building systems.
Technical Skills:
Basic computer and internet skills are required. Experience in Revit, Sketchup and Rhino, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge and/or understanding of project management software.
Experience:
Bachelors of Architecture or Masters of Architecture degree required. 4-7 years experience in architecture. Licensed Architect (desired, but not required), Strong knowledge of Autodesk Revit Architecture, SketchUp, LEED AP (desired, but not required). Experience managing others along with excellent verbal and communication skills, self motivated, flexible to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple projects in various stages of development. Experience in compiling data, performing elementary design computations, performs area calculations according to specified standards. Knowledge of building codes. Able to successfully complete the permitting process with the aid and supervision of a Team Leader. Knowledge of addenda and construction change directive procedures. The ability to review and respond to submittal and RFI documentation with sufficient knowledge and understanding of the project and industry.
