Associate Producer - Web implements assigned areas of a web or e-commerce projects. Coordinates schedules with internal and external content and development teams. Being a Associate Producer - Web oversees the financial expenditures on certain aspects of the project when working with vendors during design. Consults with business users and content providers regarding technical design issues, requests for modifications, and problem resolution. Additionally, Associate Producer - Web may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Associate Producer - Web supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Associate Producer - Web typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The Maine Trust for Local News, part of the nonprofit National Trust for Local News, is hiring a full-time copy editor/web producer for the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel newspapers and Centralmaine.com. This person will be responsible for creating crisp and engaging page designs; copy editing stories; writing accurate and compelling headlines; curating content for the website and promoting that content on social media channels; and setting and changing priorities when handling breaking news and making deadline.
The Maine Trust for Local News is owned by the National Trust for Local News, a national nonprofit dedicated to conserving, transforming and sustaining local news organizations.
