Associate Pastor assists the pastor in religious services and managing daily operations of an organization. Leads and implements outreach and educational programs and events that will maintain and grow membership. Being an Associate Pastor provides clerical support such as researching, selecting, and documenting passages or prayers to assist the pastor in planning and leading worship. Assists with administrative duties including managing calendars and schedules, preparing materials or educational documents, and communicating with volunteers. Additionally, Associate Pastor performs religious services and leads prayer. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a pastor. The Associate Pastor occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
● Oversee the spiritual development of those at TLCC onsite and online from cradle to post college.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Be the “cheerleader” for the values and strategies of Family Ministry.
● Lead innovation and forward thinking in how to continually imbed TLCC culture into Family Ministries.
● Oversee existing Family Ministries which are KPort (kids) and Redline (youth).
● Expand our Champions Club (special needs ministry) to accommodate more children.
● Launch and oversee new Family Ministries with Awana in Fall 2024, College & Careers in Winter 2024, Foster & Adoption in Spring 2025 and PreK School in Fall 2025.
● Oversee staff including our Youth Pastor, KPort Director & PreK School Director.
● Launch and oversee a parenting and marriage resource hub which includes conferences, podcasts, articles and other resources.
● Develop a world class serving environment for LIFE Teams connected to Family Ministries.
● Provide needed training for volunteers including onboarding, resource database and quarterly gatherings.
● Foster a biblical worldview around hot topic family issues including sexual orientation and gender identity.
● Partner with our Church Online Pastor to develop Family Ministry across our digital platforms.
● Partner with our LIFE Groups Director to develop parents through specifically designed groups towards this stage of life.
● Serve as a member of the Executive Staff Team to help fulfill the church vision as a whole.
● Create and update Standard Operating Procedure templates to reflect most accurate job functions for this role.
● Manage budgets for the Family Ministry.
QUALIFICATIONS
● Past experience overseeing a successful and robust family ministry.
● A bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible college, university, seminary, or equivalent with a concentration in student and/or family pastoral ministry.
● A strong and biblically grounded marriage and family dynamic.
● A love for kids, students and families along with the ability to connect with all generations.
● Experienced in recruiting, organizing and developing volunteer and leadership teams.
● Strong conflict management and relational skills.
● Self-motivated, results-oriented, independent worker with leadership and administrative skills.
● An understanding of special needs children’s ministry dynamics.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
● Relationally gifted with the ability to work well with people.
● Ability to attract high capacity leaders.
● Ability to create thought provoking curriculum.
● Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software.
● Capacity to track details of multiple projects simultaneously.
● Ability to manage sensitive matters and information.
● Knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures.
