Associate Human Resources Director directs the human resources staff that implement and manage policies and programs that reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce. Maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs. Being an Associate Human Resources Director oversees processes and programs that support employees and company operations, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. Administers an HRIS or other system to facilitate processes, provide data, and report on HR activity. Additionally, Associate Human Resources Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Associate Human Resources Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Associate Human Resources Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Reporting to the COO, this position is responsible for Accounting/Finance, IT, Purchasing and Human Resources for the company. 

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Manage the Accounting & Finance functions for the organization – including account reconciliations, financial analysis, cash management, and sales forecasting.
    • Responsible for accurate, timely month-end reports to the CEO, COO and to applicable business unit personnel.
    • Manage banking and external tax preparer relationships.
    • Direct and coordinate financial planning and budget management functions
    • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance
    • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
    • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff
    • Complete responsibility for Human Resources– including payroll processing, performance review management, hire-to-retire employee relations, and all recruiting & benefits administration initiatives.
    • Managing the purchasing and operations function – maximize inventory turnover and improve gross margins through accurate purchasing, price/quantity negotiations, and supplier relationship management.
    • Key member of the executive management team, working closely with the CEO, COO, VP-Product Development and VP-Sales & Marketing to ensure that the company’s goals are being met.
    • Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the departments goals and objectives.
    • Coordinate financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.

    Requirements & Qualifications:

    • Bachelors’ or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • At least 10 years’ experience as a Controller in a multinational company, particularly with experience in manufacturing
    • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
    • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
    • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
    • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
    • Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
    • Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, small team environment.
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
    • High-energy self-starter as well as collaborative team player.
    • Effective, strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software is required.
