Associate Human Resources Director directs the human resources staff that implement and manage policies and programs that reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce. Maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs. Being an Associate Human Resources Director oversees processes and programs that support employees and company operations, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. Administers an HRIS or other system to facilitate processes, provide data, and report on HR activity. Additionally, Associate Human Resources Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Associate Human Resources Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Associate Human Resources Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     NEED TO KNOW:

    THE ROLE:

    • The Director of Human Resources is responsible for attracting, engaging, and developing talent within an innovative and progressive early childhood education industry organization.
    • This position is based in Dublin, California, and involves in-person work supporting over 60 professionals serving more than 700 families in the Bay Area.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

    • Bachelor's degree. 
    • At least seven years of progressive human resources experience and five years in management.
    • Human Resources certification (PHR/SPHR or equivalent) is preferred.
    • Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Learning & Development:

    • Facilitate cohort-based learning initiatives and monitor participant progress.
    • Implement team-based training initiatives to foster collaboration and skill development.
    • Develop and implement Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) strategies to cultivate a diverse and inclusive team, integrating these principles into hiring practices, talent review procedures, and overall organizational culture.

    Talent Management:

    • Advise Directors on talent considerations, organizational design, team dynamics, retention, and engagement.
    • Develop and execute an employee recruiting and onboarding strategy.

    Performance Management:

    • Drive performance reviews and improvement plans.
    • Collaborate on individual development plans and training opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain position-specific training resources.

    Employee Relations:

    • Consult on employee-related issues, performance concerns, misconduct investigations, and terminations.
    • Conduct routine employee experience and engagement surveys.

    Policies and Procedures:

    • Ensure company compliance with applicable laws and code of conduct.
    • Champion respectful workplace expectations.

    Other HR Management:

    • Manage HR programs, including our PEO partnership, office administration, safety, respectful workplace training, benefits administration, HRIS management, and employee recognition.
