Being an Associate General Counsel assists in protecting an organization's legal interest and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law. Provides counsel to senior leadership. Additionally, Associate General Counsel identifies and analyzes legal issues, drafts key documents, presents clear recommendations to top management, and assures legal compliance. The Assistant General Counsel is responsible for handling a broad range of legal issues as assigned by and under the direction of the General Counsel. The Assistant General Counsel will provide direct, ongoing support to the General Counsel. The incumbent will have the authority to perform day-to-day operations while ensuring the appropriate supervisor(s)/senior leadership stay abreast of issues.
Essential Duties of the Position
Must have a Juris Doctor and 0-5 years relevant experience, prior business experience or education is preferred. Current law students in their final year of law school will be considered for this position.
Must have the ability to apply knowledge and skills and confer with General Counsel and Senior Management to develop and execute solutions. Must be proficient in basic computer usage, including internet research, Outlook e-mail and Microsoft Office.
