Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of an undergraduate program. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Associate Dean assists the Dean in advancing the vision and in providing academic leadership in order to achieve high standards of excellence. The associate dean ensures continuous quality improvement in both instruction and services with measurable outcomes for coworkers and students. The Associate Dean promotes a collaborative, communicative working environment with other departments to promote the College's Mission and Vision and to provide a positive learning environment. The Associate Dean networks and builds relationships with all stakeholders to ensure excellence in faculty development and instructional delivery, while working within budget parameters. This position requires a flex schedule which may include occasional evenings and weekends. Associate Deans work to promote social justice within their division and the larger academic institution. Associate Deans support faculty development to encourage student learning and support social justice within the classroom utilizing Western's Educational Justice Framework of trauma-informed and poverty-informed practices, and culturally responsive teaching.

Starting annual salary range based on education and experience: $78,503 - $102,055
