  • The Associate Dean, Continuing Education Health Professions Programs directs and oversees the portfolio of Continuing Education Health Professions programs and course offerings, demonstrating leadership through the development and expansion of innovative programs tailored to prepare students for a variety of health-related career opportunities. This role involves fostering a collaborative environment, leading operations in this critical area, providing administrative and instructional leadership to the faculty, and conceptualizing as well as executing a strategic plan for Continuing Education Health Professions programs. The Associate Dean of Health Professions embrace the mission of the College while enhancing and optimizing the efficiency of service delivery and assuring programs are in compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agency requirements.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Plans, administers, manages, and evaluates CEWD Health Professions programs and course offerings.
    • Provides leadership and vision for the creation and implementation of a strategic plan for CEWD Health Professions.
    • Develops and implements new educational programs and courses in response to the needs of the local and regional community.
    • Functions as the instructional leader for CEWD Health Professions in the development and assessment of curriculum, program outcomes and student learning outcomes in collaboration with instructors/faculty.
    • Brings innovative approaches to seeking out new funding sources for the programs. Together with the Grants Department, assists in the development and writing of grant proposals and employer partner contracts for funding and workforce partnership opportunities.
    • Supervises CEWD Health Professions staff and faculty. Actively recruits, mentors, and assesses the performance of instructional and support staff, while also efficiently managing and coordinating their payroll in collaboration with Human Resources.
    • Collaborates closely with Deans, Department Chairs, and Student Support Services to develop and communicate clear pathways from non-credit to credit courses, serving as subject matter expert in CEWD Health Professions programming.
    • In collaboration with the Director of Marketing, develops marketing and promotional strategies for programs and courses within the CEWD Health Professions.
    • Ensures compliance with all relevant criteria established by state agencies, national industry associations and other accreditation agencies.
    • Participates in the development of learning and career outcomes, monitors and assessment of those appropriate outcomes, and assists in the development of plans of action for improvement.
    • Reviews, maintains, and evaluates the divisional budget and directs, in collaboration with the Vice President of Continuing Education, the appropriation of funds and expenditures related to programs and courses within CEWD Health Professions Programs.
    • Attends workshops, courses, meetings, professional development, and other activities to further divisional objectives.
    • Implements College and divisional policies and procedures.
    • Performs additional tasks or duties as assigned by the Vice President of Continuing Education and Workforce Development or other designated management.

    SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Master’s Degree in a health professions field required.

    Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing, managing, and evaluating health- related programs. Managerial experience in adult, continuing or community education at the Associate Director level or above preferred. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level in a health professions field preferred. Experience in adult learning; extensive experience in leading healthcare education preferably in a higher education or healthcare setting. In-depth understanding of planning, program development and budgeting and financial reporting. Experience and demonstrated achievement in developing, marketing, implementing, and assessing educational programs.

    • Demonstrated knowledge in the administration and development of health-related programs.
    • Knowledge of curriculum and program development and evaluation, as well as needs assessment and marketing of health professions courses and programs.
    • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, college employees and community members.
    • Demonstrated organizational skills in handling multiple complex assignments and tasks.
    • Demonstrated excellent supervisory, administrative, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; and effectively present information to top management.
    • Possesses a high level of knowledge regarding the management of budgets, including profit and loss analysis, project development and management. Advanced proficiency in the use of e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software and use of the Internet to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others.
    • Skill in working effectively in a team environment with a student and customer service focus. Ability to provide excellent student service with ability to handle inquiries of diverse and multicultural students, staff, faculty and visitors with sensitivity and diplomacy.
    • Demonstrates understanding of the community college mission and practices, best practices in equity, and future trends in higher education.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS

    • Annual Salary range is from $75,000 - $92,000.
