Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of an undergraduate program. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Chemical, Biochemical and Environmental Engineering
The Department of Chemical, Biochemical and Environmental Engineering is part of The College of Engineering and Information Technology (COEIT) at UMBC. We currently offer a variety of degrees and certificates for undergraduate and graduate students, including a B.S. in chemical engineering with three tracks; traditional, biochemical and environmental. We also offer an M.S. and Ph.D. in environmental engineering, as well as an applied certificate program in biochemical regulatory engineering.
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or related Bachelor of Science field. Degrees in English or other related fields also may be considered
Excellent verbal communication, especially to high school and community college student populations
Excellent written communication and customer service skills
Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems
Knowledge of digital/graphics software such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Express, etc.
Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
High level of experience with Google Workspace
A strong understanding of and experience in the higher education market including recruitment, admissions and retention
Basic knowledge of HTML helpful or willingness to learn
