Associate Dean of Humanities assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of humanities. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Humanities provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Humanities typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Humanities typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. CBC seeks a Dean for Arts, Humanities, & Communication. The Dean is the line administrator who is responsible to the Vice President for Instruction for administering and coordinating comprehensive programs of instruction for the following disciplines: fine arts, music, theatre, English, world languages, communication studies, and Spanish Interpretation. This position oversees administrative assignments within the instructional program, as required, and participates as a member of the instructional administrative team in the general operation of the instructional program. The Dean reports to the Vice President for Instruction (VPI).

This is a full-time, overtime exempt, administrative staff position. The typical work hours for this position are Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; however, work hours may vary due to work demands, summer schedule and some evening and weekend work may be required
