Associate Dean of Fine Arts jobs in Tennessee

Associate Dean of Fine Arts assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Fine Arts provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The associate dean is expected to remain current in their academic area of expertise and teach one (graduate or undergraduate) course annually.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Terminal degree from an AACSB-accredited institution in a business or closely aligned discipline with academic credentials sufficient to be tenured at the associate or full professor level in a department within the College of Business.
    • Record of successful scholarship, effective teaching, and collaborative university, professional, and community service.
    • Demonstrated effective communication skills.


    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience in an academic or professional management role(s).
    • Experience in accreditation processes, with a particular focus on AACSB accreditation.
    • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience developing and sustaining partnerships with internal and external constituents.

    Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD53.
