Associate Dean of Engineering jobs in West Virginia

West Virginia Wesleyan College seeks an experienced faculty member and leader to serve as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. Reporting to the college’s Chief Academic Officer, the Associate Dean works closely with shared governance, academic unit leaders, Academic Services, and other areas across the college to assist with the oversight of academics, assessment, and accreditation.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees the orientation of new faculty and continued faculty development.
• Fosters a supportive environment for teaching, scholarship, and professional growth.
• Leads the assessment of student learning outcomes
• Coordinates with academic unit leaders to complete program assessment and accreditation reports.
• As the Director of General Education, oversees the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum
• Collaborates with academic unit leaders on curricular and retention issues
• Assists with the resolution of student academic problems
• Serves as the Coordinator of Teaching & Learning
• Represents the VPAA and advocate for academic priorities on committees and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate and record of teaching/scholarship suitable for appointment at associate professor rank
• Commitment to the mission and values of a residential liberal arts college
• Knowledge of higher education administration, academic programs, and trends
• Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment
• Strategic thinking and planning skills, outstanding communication abilities
