Associate Dean of Education assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of education. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Education provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Education typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Required Qualifications
    • Master’s degree in appropriate area from an accredited institution.
    • Three (3) years of community college or related administrative experience.
    • Administrative experience in budget, personnel management and labor relations.
    • Ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships with students, staff, faculty and other administrative personnel.
    • Effective communicator with a demonstrated ability to lead through shared decision making.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Three (3) years administrative or teaching experience in an occupational career program area.
    • Two (2) years of professional work experience in an occupational career program area.
    • Formal training beyond the Master’s Degree.
    • Familiarity with State and Federal reporting and administration of grants associated with the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act.
    • Experience in the use of technology in education.
    • Experience in teaching, developing and/or managing interdisciplinary curricula.
