Associate Dean of Education assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of education. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Education provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Education typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. seeks to recruit a Faculty member to serve in a Part-time capacity (0.8 FTE) as
the Senior Associate Dean for Education, which reports to the SOM Dean and
leads the SOM medical student and health professions programs and SOM
educational initiatives. The remaining .20 FTE in the candidate’s
department. We are seeking an Associate
or Full Professor, open track. This position is available beginning October 1,
2023, and a later date can be negotiated, as needed, for the successful
applicant.
