Position Overview

The Associate Director for Recruitment develops and implements a recruitment, outreach, communication, and conversion strategy for prospective student populations in collaboration with the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management/Director of Admissions. These strategies include hosting on-campus events, participating in high school/community college/graduate visits and fairs, collaborating with community organizations, engaging in impactful recruitment travel, and providing high levels of customer service through the admissions process. Collaborates with the marketing communications office to create impactful communications, and implements technology and social media in the recruitment/conversion process. The Associate Director facilitates and funnels management strategies to ensure thoughtful and timely action by staff.

Core Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• In coordination with the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management/Director of Admissions, the Associate Director provides critical operational leadership for university-wide recruitment, admission, and enrollment goal-setting and planning.
• In concert with the Director, the Associate Director is responsible for developing an annual recruitment plan in-line with Enrollment Services and University strategic plans to meet enrollment objectives.
• The Associate Director develops and implements innovative and modern recruitment and yield techniques in support of the University's academic programs.
• Collaborates with campus partners to set up admissions/enrollment systems that communicate across departments and the campus.
• Provides ongoing communication and interaction with the units within Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and other campus offices.
• Provide input and counsel to the Director for Admissions on campus-wide recruitment and admissions-related matters to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of unit processes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and communication with campus offices involved in new student admissions and onboarding.
• Research and develop admissions-related policies and procedures in collaboration with the Director and provide supervision and guidance to staff that advise/guide prospective students, returning students, parents, and other interested parties.
• Other position responsibilities include personnel and resource management specific to the recruitment unit, implementation of policies and procedures to enhance and/or improve recruitment and yield program development, and development of annual recruitment plans and timelines.
• Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management/Director of Admissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a university admissions/recruitment setting. Particularly interested in candidates with experience working within an HBCU setting.
• The Position requires the ability to communicate effectively with prospective students, parents, faculty, and staff as well as the ability to represent the admissions office at local, state, and national functions as required.
• Proficiency in enrollment services technology such as Jenzabar and communication tools is preferred.
• This position requires frequent evening and weekend work as well as significant travel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
