Assoc. Professor - Sociology teaches courses in the discipline area of sociology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Sociology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Part-time Sociology Professor – Continuous Pool

    Clark College is currently seeking to fill a part-time Sociology Professor position to teach 1-2 Introductory to Sociology courses per academic term.
     
    This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime, evening or weekend hours. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
    • Master's Degree or higher in Sociology or a closely related field.
    • Experience teaching college level courses.
    • Ability to work well as a member of a team.
    • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds. 
    SALARY STATEMENT: Lecture hourly rate is $85.48
