Assoc. Professor - Sociology teaches courses in the discipline area of sociology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Sociology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Faculty Assistant Professor - COP

    The College of Pharmacy invites applications for a clinical faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

     

    The successful candidate will need to have earned a PharmD and completed a residency.  The position requires didactic teaching and course coordination, precepting and teaching of APPE students, fostering interdisciplinary research, and participating in academic and service responsibilities at the College and University.  Preference will be given to applicants with didactic teaching and research experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Faculty will be responsible for delivery of a portion of the curriculum and participation in its development.
    • Faculty will teach Touro University students on campus as part of that curriculum. 
    • Faculty will provide service on College and University committees, attendance and participation in departmental meetings and will perform other faculty duties as appropriate.
    • Faculty will contribute to new knowledge through research activities, presentations, publications, obtaining grants and/or contracts, clinical trials and other scholarly work.
    • Faculty will provide reports and other documents as requested by department chairs, directors and deans.
    • Faculty will practice as a clinical pharmacist in compliance with the job description of the site.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (if applicable):

    • None

    Qualifications

    • Doctoral degree in pharmacy and/or related academic discipline
    • Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a pharmacist in the state of California
    • At least one year of post-doctoral training, or equivalent
    • Experience with a Doctor of Pharmacy program with a clinical pharmacy background is preferred
