    POSITION:


    TEMPORARY LECTURER IN SOCIAL WORK: The Department of Social Work at California State University, Stanislaus invites applications for a full-time lecturer at the Turlock Campus. This is a full-time faculty appointment in our MSW Program beginning Fall 2024. The incumbent is responsible for teaching a variety of social work practice courses related to individual, family and group counseling, community and organizational practice, human behavior, and social work history and policy. This is a full-time, 9-month lecturer position. Workload assignments include teaching courses at the Turlock and/or Stockton campus consistent with qualifications, attending MSW Department meetings and maintaining communication with students, faculty and the University as required.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


    A MASTER'S DEGREE in SOCIAL WORK is required. Other minimum qualifications include: 5 YEARS POST-MSW EXPERIENCE; Clinical Social Work License; Academic teaching or social service training experience; Interest and competence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population; Understanding of the service systems, social, and cultural issues in the Central California region; Demonstrated commitment to the pursuit of social justice; Ability to establish networks and collaborate effectively with university, faculty, and students; Awareness of NASW practice standards; Knowledge of the NASW Code of Ethics; Ability to prioritize and manage volume of work; Basic computer and software knowledge and skills.


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


    Experience as a Social Work Field Instructor/Liaison; Familiarity in approaches to supervision; Experience with learning management systems, such as Blackboard, Moodle or Canvas; Experience with social work pedagogy; Knowledge of current trends and issues impacting learning in higher education; Ability to coordinate varied academic responsibilities, work under pressure, meet deadlines and adjust priorities; Familiarity with the Council on Social Work Education accreditation standards and competency-based education; Skills with and/or ability to learn computer systems and software, and multimedia skills

    Commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.

    Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range 2.
