Assoc. Professor - Social Work teaches courses in the discipline area of social work. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Social Work provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Social Work typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Social Work p.r.n. has an immediate need for a LMSW or LSCSW to serve a 60-90-day, full-time, temporary contract for a growing health care program that helps people at risk for needing nursing home stay in their own homes and communities. The purpose of the position is to provide services to meet the social and/or emotional needs that affect the participants? ability to achieve their goals. Program participants live in the Topeka area; however, candidates can complete most job responsibilities at home other than assessments that are in-person.
Job responsibilities include:
Assess the ongoing psychosocial needs of participants/families based on emotional, environmental, financial, psychological, cognitive, social and health factors and access community resources when applicable.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in the development and ongoing evaluation of a psychosocial care plan.
Involve the patient/family in determining care goals and objectives.
Recognize signs and symptoms of psychiatric illness and provide therapeutic interventions to address the stages of grief and loss.
