Assoc. Professor - Social Work teaches courses in the discipline area of social work. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Social Work provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Social Work typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Job Description
As a healthcare social worker, also called a medical social worker, you will help patients and their families cope with and recover from illness. Working at a hospital, nursing home, outpatient center, home health, or other healthcare facility, you will advocate for patients, helping them secure the resources they need. You'll collaborate with the care team and work with outside agencies to help fulfill patient needs. You'll play a critical role in preventing illness, promoting health and wellness, and educating patients and families.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent acute care experience in specialty
- ASN, ADN, BSN or MSN required
