    About The Position:

    The Quality and Engineering Manager will lead and integrate the engineering and quality assurance departments. Responsibilities include developing and implementing engineering solutions and quality assurance programs to enhance operational efficiency, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will align engineering and quality systems with organizational objectives and customer needs.

    What You'll Do:

    • Lead the combined engineering and quality assurance teams, setting clear direction and fostering accountability.
    • Oversee and align the activities of the Quality and Engineering departments with company objectives and customer requirements.
    • Manage and optimize the quality management system, ensuring adherence to ISO 9001 standards and customer specifications.
    • Develop and implement engineering solutions to improve equipment, manufacturing processes, tooling, and innovation initiatives.
    • Analyze maintenance plans, performance metrics, and quality assurance processes for continuous improvement.
    • Drive maintenance and quality enhancement initiatives using lean manufacturing techniques.
    • Lead capital project requests, ensuring timely implementation and technical integration.
    • Uphold and promote the company's values, fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, and excellence.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality policies and standards.
    • Manage the NDT certification program and ensure adherence to relevant standards.
    • Utilize statistical analysis and lean six sigma methods for continuous improvement.
    • Cultivate strong customer relationships, addressing needs and feedback proactively.
    • Lead problem-solving teams and kaizen events to enhance operational performance.
    • Exercise authority to halt processes for quality, safety, or environmental concerns, promptly reporting noncompliance.
    • Provide leadership, direction, and training to team members, promoting high performance and competence.

    What It Takes to Succeed:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
    • 10 years of experience in manufacturing and quality assurance, preferably in the commercial metals industry.
    • Proficiency in quality systems, process control plans, and relevant industry standards (e.g., ASTM, AMS, ASME).
    • Familiarity with metallurgical concepts and materials; steel industry experience is advantageous.

    Language Skills:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical communication.

    Mathematical Skills:

    • Proficiency in statistical analysis methods and mathematical analyses relevant to industry applications.
