Assoc. Professor - Psychology teaches courses in the discipline area of psychology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Psychology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Psychology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology

  • Purpose:

    Lincoln University of Missouri seeks to fill multiple tenure-track faculty positions in Psychology starting in August 2024. The area of specialty in Psychology is open but the group of successful applicants' areas of specialty will be complementary and cover a broad spectrum of the field of Psychology. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in at least one of the four following areas: clinical/counseling, statistical/experimental techniques, social, or developmental psychology. Candidates with expertise in additional areas that could contribute to the growth of the program and/or lead to interdisciplinary collaboration with other programs across campus are also strongly encourage to apply. For candidates with significant experience, rank, and years toward tenure will be considered at the time of hire.

    Review of applications will begin November 15th and continue until the position is filled. There are four (4) positions.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Prepare and teach classes, advise, mentor students, engage students in undergraduate research, and serve on departmental and institutional committees.

    Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

    Publish professional papers, attend professional conferences, community service, and contribute to the growth of the psychology program and/or lead to interdisciplinary collaboration with other programs across campus.

    Qualifications:

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics:

    The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related area with expertise in at least one of the four following areas: Clinical/Counseling, Statistical/Experimental techniques, social, or developmental psychology. ABDs are welcome to apply. Experience teaching at the college level, in environments with student populations of diverse backgrounds is preferred. Experience obtaining grants or other forms of external funding is also desirable.

    Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

    While not required, any certificates or licensure in the areas of clinical/counseling, statistical/experimental techniques, social, or developmental psychology would be welcomed.
