    SUMMARY
    An employee in this classification, under the supervision of the Supervising Psychologist, is responsible for planning, developing, and directing the delivery of behavior support services to eligible individuals and their families, and to provide leadership to the agency and Lucas County community regarding individuals with a developmental disability and a mental illness.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Supervises and orients individuals assigned to the department and student interns, or others as applicable. 

    DUTIES
    70%
    • Under the supervision of the Supervising Psychologist:
    o Conducts psychological evaluations, consultations, and risk assessments as needed for the purposes of determining level of care for home and community-based waivers, eligibility and community risk.
    o Acts as consultant for the Specialized Support Consultants and Service and Support Specialists to help them develop behavior support strategies that are consistent with the person’s assessed level of need, incorporating trauma informed care as appropriate and incorporate into the Individual Services Plan (ISP).
    o Works cooperatively with staff, parents, mental health providers, medical personnel, specialists, schools, universities.
    o Participates in Human Rights Committee, development of ISP, case conference, and other committees, as directed, in order to support the mission and values of the Board.  
    o Provides direct supervision to staff, student interns, or others, as applicable.

    • Establishes and maintains relationships both inside and outside the Board to ensure that people served are accurately assessed, appropriately served, and considered for participation in services provided by community partners. 
    • Assists with leading Board efforts to build capacity by developing relationships with state agencies, other Lucas County agencies, mental health providers, local schools, local hospitals, and other groups who provide services or are interested in supporting people with Developmental Disabilities (DD).

    • Monitors activities to comply with all applicable rules, regulations, laws, Board policies/procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
    • Attends a variety of staffings, meetings, training, and activities.

    • Performs other related duties as required.

    WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Position may require evenings, weekends, and locations convenient for individual/family or external contacts.  
    • Position will involve exposure to individuals with medical and behavioral risks.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
    • Ability to promote an inclusive environment for all board staff, individuals served, families, and providers.
    • Knowledge and ability to operate personal computer, applications software, instructional equipment, and basic office equipment.
    • Skill in the research, assessment and development of behavior support goals and desired outcomes.
    • Handle routine and sensitive issues and develop and maintain effective professional relations with families, providers, and the general public.
    • Ability and experience to observe, assess, and respond to the behavior support needs of individuals with developmental disabilities supported by the Board or providers, and clearly and effectively communicate those needs.
    • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
    • Exercise judgment, recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate action.
    • Interpret and comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and guidelines. 
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
    • Use of psychological testing/evaluation instruments consistent with professional standards. 
    • Adherence to the principles of good management practices as outlined in the "Expectations for Effective Leadership and Management Practices." 

    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited College or University.
    • Three (3) years of experience providing psychological services.
    • One (1) year of supervisory experience required. 
    • Two (2) years of supervised, paid work experience in programs or services with individuals with DD is preferred. 

    CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION AND LICENSURE
    • Service and Support Administrator Supervisor Certification with the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, obtained within 4 years of employment.
    • Valid Driver’s license with acceptable driving record

    TRAINING
    • Training as required by the Board and DODD.
    • Completion of Lucas County Board of DD Supervisory Training Program within 2 years of hire
    • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification including Pediatric

    OTHER
    • Requires reliable transportation.
    • Must act in accordance and follow all rules and regulations of the license of the Supervising Psychologist.
