The Economics, Accounting and Business Department at Converse University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Business Administration (with qualifications and expertise in Management) at the Assistant Professor level to begin in Fall 2024.
We are seeking someone with the broad credentials and enthusiasm needed to teach Management Principles regularly; we are open as to the specific area of management, but course coverage is especially needed for human resource and international business courses. Preference will be given to candidates who might also be qualified and willing to teach a few courses in another business area, such as statistics, business law, economics principles or healthcare administration. A Ph.D. in Business or Management is strongly preferred; there will need to be demonstrated expertise either via training or research and academic qualifications to teach in management and any other area.
The standard teaching load is 24 credit hours per year, (often fulfilled by teaching a 4-4 or 3-1-3 with the 1 course in the middle taught as part of the Jan Term intercession). Additional responsibilities include advising students, assessing student learning, curriculum development, and providing service to the department, university, and community. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal art setting and provide evidence of excellence in teaching and continued professional development, as well as the ability to collaborate with colleagues across campus.
Converse University is a private, coed liberal arts university with an enrollment of ~1,284 traditional and non-traditional undergraduate and graduate students. The department supports undergraduate majors in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration (with concentrations in Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Marketing and Sports Management) and Healthcare Administration.
