The Department of Engineering Technology at Northwestern State University of Louisiana seeks applications from enthusiastic individuals interested in a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering Technology position beginning August 12, 2024. Applicants should hold at least an MS degree with 5 years of relevant professional experience or preferably a Doctoral degree, in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
A successful candidate should be committed to growing the programs, excellence in teaching, service to the student and the university, professional growth, research, scholarship, and supporting STEM initiatives. The applicant will be expected to actively participate in and support accreditation processes and teach a variety of lectures and laboratory courses in the industrial engineering technology area. The applicant will be expected to participate in developing new programs, courses, and labs, related to Industrial Systems, Data Analytics, Al applications in industries, Robotics, and Industrial Automation.
The applicant will be required to work with the Department Head of Engineering Technology, the Director of the School of STEM, and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Provost/Vice President to expand the program to meet the needs of industry through the industrial advisory committee. A successful applicant will be required to advise and counsel students, maintain prescribed office hours, and perform other duties as assigned by the college or university. The applicant will be expected to maintain collegial relationships with peers and colleagues throughout the university. Further, the applicant will be expected to participate in curriculum development, departmental and facility improvement programs, recruiting, grant writing, scholarly research, departmental and university committees, and official functions.
