The Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) invites applications for full-time and part-time clinical faculty positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor level. We are also seeking an individual (full-time) who will serve as the Clinical Director for the program. These appointments are effective immediately.
These academic appointments are based in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and involve the training of post graduate students in the Certificate in Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Pediatric Dentistry. Responsibilities include didactic and clinical instruction in all aspects of pediatric dentistry related with specialist training. The appointee must possess strong clinical skills and be experienced in providing clinical care and instruction in the treatment of pediatric patients with who have many needs including, social challenges, medically complex conditions, mental and physical disabilities in an outpatient clinical setting. Supervision and evaluation of postdoctoral residents in all aspects of oral conscious sedation and operating room activities is integral to the position. Further expectations include mentoring postdoctoral residents on scholarly activities pertaining to dental research.
The Pediatric Dental Department has three community affiliated sites within the city of Boston and Brighton, MA; the candidate must be eligible for appointment and have the ability to travel to each site.
Clinical Director
This faculty administrative position reports to the Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition to teaching, mentoring and related duties as described above, the Clinical Director will oversee the administration of the program's clinician schedule, i.e., faculty and residents at the Pediatric Dental Center, Franciscan Hospital for Children, East Boston Neighborhood Health Center and Boston Medical Center. This will involve coordinating clinician schedules between the sites and the school. This position requires previous program administration experience, strong organizational skills, and proven leadership experience.
