Assoc. Professor - Dentistry teaches courses in the discipline area of dentistry. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Dentistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Dentistry typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Dental office experience is preferred. Candidate must know front office skills, be comfortable operating a desktop computer, Microsoft Office, and internet savvy. Experience with Dentrix software is preferred, dental experience is required.
This position will primarily be for front office work that will include, but not limited to:
-Efficient appointment scheduling
-Verifying dental insurance coverage and benefit breakdowns
-Figuring patient out of pocket estimates
-Collecting payments
- Posting insurance payments
- Following up on insurance claims
-Keeping updated and accurate patient records
-Checking patients in and out
-Multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Candidate must also practice basic hygiene qualities and present in appropriate business casual attire.
