Assistant Treasurer jobs in Rhode Island
Assistant Treasurer assists in the direction and management of an organization's treasury activities. Oversees and directs all aspects of daily treasury activities. Being an Assistant Treasurer ensures financial transactions, policies, and procedures fulfill the organization's objectives, needs, and regulatory body requirements. Assists with the corporate banking, credit, and investment functions. Additionally, Assistant Treasurer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Assistant Treasurer manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Assistant Treasurer typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. - Verify deposits and issue receipts for monies received
- Prepare and process vouchers for monies expended according to school department procedures
- Maintain all records of transactions for all accounts
- Make deposits with the bank on a regular basis
- Accept receipts from athletic events and make the proper disbursements of these monies
- Perform reconciliation’s of all bank accounts
- Provide exchange checks for all school activities
- Provide financial information/advice to the building principal
- Provide advice and assistance to class officers, advisors, ect.
- Prepare annual financial report for the Controller’s Office.
- Maintain confidentiality of accounts
- Maintain school store
- Meet with the principal monthly to go over all recorded transactions and the monthly bank statement
- Preference given to current teachers at the individual school
- Responsible for account and balancing of student funds and reports for PPSD accounting.
- Knowledge of computer peripherals such as a scanner and a zip drive, preferred.

- Must have demonstrated organizational skills and meet all deadlines.
