Monitors activities of the student government and student clubs. Being an Assistant Student Activities Director typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Student Activities Director. The Assistant Student Activities Director supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.     Responsibilities:

    • Work to implement and engage in fun activities planned by the Activities Director on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
      • Examples: birthday parties, card games, holiday-themed parties, bingo, dancing, etc.
    • Activities are meant to provide resident engagement, fun, physical and mental stimulation, and coordination in our nursing home setting
    • Activities assisstants must be able to work every other weekend
    • Collecting feedback on events and activities from our residents

     

    Here is what is needed to be part of this amazing team:

    • Prior recreation/activities experience in a nursing home preferred
    • Acitivities experience preferred
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served
    • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
    • Be available to work the scheduled hours 
    • Flexibility is needed to work extended hours and/or weekends if needed
    • Have a passion for helping others, being creative, professional, and engaging in recreational activities
    • Work well in a team environment, with excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Primary series of the COVID Vaccination required
