POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Director should have familiarity with social services and a variety of available community resources, a passion for community outreach, strong attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. In addition to the requirements set forth as listed below. The Program Director must have the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with staff members, participants, parents, stakeholders and the overall community. The Program Director is required at times to travel to other UAU work sites, within the Staten Island community, and in addition to, but not limited to Manhattan. The Program Director is responsible for complying with all standards set forth by United Activities Unlimited and the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD).
Must be willing, capable and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed and scheduled in advance; to work additional hours as needed and attend meetings and/ or events in addition to the regular weekly work schedule.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
●* *Required Education Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or related field is MUST candidates that do not have the education requirements will not be considered OR in lieu of the aforementioned educational requirements the Program Director must successfully complete the required New York State School-Age Care (SAC Credentials) within 18 months of starting the position as Program Director.
●* *MUST have 2 years of direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, required.
●* *MUST have 2 years in a supervisory capacity in a childcare program or related field of work; whereas experience is in direct management and oversight of 10 plus employees, required.
● Obtain and maintain all security clearance requirements throughout the duration of employment.
● Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based perspective.
● Must be culturally competent - the ability to understand, be sensitive to the needs of, communicate with, and effectively interact with people across all cultures.
● Familiar with the regulations and requirements for DYCD and NY State Departments of Health and aware of the compliance requirements as enacted by Federal, State and local jurisdictions.
● Ability to demonstrate excellent employee rapport and community leadership.
● Proficient writing and verbal communication skills.
● Proficiency in basic computer usage, i.e., Windows, Microsoft Suite, Google Apps (drive, sheets, docs) etc..
