Assistant Student Activities Director assists student activities director in developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive program that delivers quality and diverse campus student activities. Monitors activities of the student government and student clubs. Being an Assistant Student Activities Director typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Student Activities Director. The Assistant Student Activities Director supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.     South Puget Sound Community College seeks student applicants for the position of Campus Activities Board in Student Life.

    Educational Benefit:
    This position will allow you to gain valuable transferable skills with any service, event, or planning careers you may be working towards.

    Schedule Information:
    • Office Open M-F 8am-5pm
    • 15 hours per week
    • Must be available for some weekend and evening programs
    • We work around your class schedule!

    What You'll Do

    The CAB works as a team to provide campus-wide events and activities that promote engagement, inclusion, wellness, and entertainment. Board members plan, promote, and staff events. Board members should be outgoing, energetic, and willing to get students involved. Event planning experience is NOT required. You’ll get a chance to work on all types of Events. Our events fall into one of the following categories:

    1. Arts and Entertainment
    2. Outreach and Campus Resources
    3. Academic and Education
    4. Diversity and Inclusion
    5. Wellness and Recreation
    6. Special Events and Traditions

    Qualifications You Possess

    • Currently enrolled student
    • Enrolled in minimum 6 credits each quarter
    • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 of higher
    • Commit to a year-long position
    • Commit to fall training starting August 30th, 2023
