Assistant Student Activities Director assists student activities director in developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive program that delivers quality and diverse campus student activities. Monitors activities of the student government and student clubs. Being an Assistant Student Activities Director typically requires a bachelor's degree. As a member of the Division of Student Life Human Resources Team, the Assistant Director will function as a strategic business partner providing leadership, consultation, and guidance on all human resources (HR) areas. This position will be responsible for executing a full range of HR responsibilities from a collaborative, customer-service-oriented perspective. The Assistant Director will serve as an HR Representative for a selection of units within the Division of Student Life. This Assistant Director role will have a particular focus on supporting initiatives contained within the Division of Student Life strategic plan from a leadership & development lens. The Assistant Director will also be expected to assist with ensuring the Division of Student Life is making forward progress toward becoming a welcoming and respectful organization through demonstrating transformational leadership. This position will also be responsible for providing supervision and leadership to direct reports.
The Assistant Director reports to the Senior Human Resources Director for the Division of Student Life.
Specific Job Duties and Tasks
This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
