Qualifications as an Assistant Activities Director

• • Assist in planning and organizing interesting, stimulating activity programs for the adult and geriatric population appropriate to the needs of the residents (including but not limited to small and large group programs, individual pursuits, sensory activities, clubs, special interests, spiritual and religious activities, one to one activities community outings, etc).
  • Ensures that all documentation requirements are met (completes MDS, Care Plan Goals, Activity Assessments, Progress Notes, discharge notes, etc).
  • Attends and participates in scheduled meetings in the absence of the Activities Director (ie. Resident Council Meetings, morning meetings, care plan meetings, Quality of Work Life)
  • Assists in ordering appropriate supplies needed to carry out programming
  • Assists in organizing and coordinating special community outings with residents interest in mind
  • Assists in the training and supervision of all recreation staff
  • Assists in arranging and coordinating staff and resident programs, seasonal holiday parties and special events
  • Assists in decorating the facility during holiday/season
  • Assists in transporting residents to/from activity programming
  • Assists in supervising the volunteer program for the facility
  • Adheres to all facility and corporate policies/Maintains corporate compliance standards
  • Represents the organization professionally

  Requirements:

  • Minimum High School Diploma required (Bachelors a plus)
  • Must have at least 2 years experience as a recreation professional in a hospital or healthcare facility.
  • Documentation experience a plus
  • Must be reliable and a team player
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull a min. of 50 lbs.
  • Organizational skills a plus
  • Supervisory experience in recreation a plus
  • Creative, genuine personality a plus
  • Great communication skills and ability to empathize
  • Weekend availability
  • Tuesday - Saturday Schedule 8:30am - 4:30pm
  • Must be fully vacinated
