In the absence of the Principal, the Assistant Principal assumes responsibility for operation of the school and carries out the necessary duties. The candidate will organize and coordinate work efficiently, collaborate with the school Leadership Team and central office administrators and support district-wide goals and initiatives, under the direct guidance and supervision of the Principal. The candidate will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of elementary and middle school education, curriculum, instruction, positive behavior and assessment, must have the ability to multitask with deadlines, and be flexible and adaptable to additional duties as necessary. Concord School is part of the Kingdom East School District (KESD), located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have “choice” and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing. We are located about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston and Portland, ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Both Littleton, NH and St. Johnsbury, VT have numerous fine and performing arts venues.
