ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - Academy Park High School
The Southeast Delco School District is seeking an Assistant Principal at Academy Park High School. The successful candidate will lead a grade 9 to 12 school through the supervision of teachers, student discipline and curriculum and instruction. Must have knowledge of C&I, teacher supervision/evaluation, and student discipline. Secondary experience with a diverse student body is required. Must hold active and valid PA cert. in Principal K-12 or Secondary Principal 7-12. Starting salary commensurate with prior experience. JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant High School Principal supports the High School Principal ensuring for the smooth operation of the school and implantation of the curriculum of the school. The major responsibilities shall include maintaining a safe and positive school climate for learning to be conducted for students, teachers and support staff and volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in education and at least five year’s successful teaching experience.

Pennsylvania certified in at least one of these certification areas:
-
a)Secondary Principal (7 – 12)

b)Principal (K –12)

Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and board of directors.

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and apply mathematical operations to tasks.

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Proficiency in the use of personal computer technology and be able to operate a variety of office equipment including a telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all administrators and the management team, the Board of School Directors, parents, students, professional staff and the community.

Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code, Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code), FBI Criminal History Record, Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Pennsylvania principal certification. (K-12 or Secondary)

Five (5) years of successful teaching experience with demonstrated exemplary results.
