- Assists the principal in the implementation of curriculum and IEPs.
- Assists and supervises teachers in preparing curriculum materials and in the development and implementation of instructional techniques.
- Prepares and implements pre-service and in-service training of instructional staff.
- Assists with meetings and conferences at the school (faculty, staff assemblies, etc.); graduation activities including rehearsals and commencement; school inventories and reports of excess equipment, theft and vandalism, and sponsorships for other student activities.
- Schedules and implements emergency drills.
- Processes equipment repair requests and supervises equipment repairpersons.
- Assists in the preparation of the school’s budget as it relates to curriculum development and textbook adoptions.
- Approves professional development and field trip requests.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Coordinates school volunteer/observation requests.
- Assists in the coordination/implementation of ESY.
- Minimum of five years of teaching experience in a special education classroom setting required.
- Experience teaching students with severe cognitive and emotional needs required.
- Prior school administrative experience preferred.
- Missouri special education teacher certification required
- Missouri principal certification, at the appropriate grade level(s), required
- Missouri special education administrator certification required
