    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Pharmacy Director is responsible for performing the following duties:

    • Provides leadership in the establishment, implementation and evaluation of pharmacy services.
    • Designs, develops and implements appropriate Pharmacy Department policies and procedures that are complaint with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.
    • Responsible for purchasing supplies and maintaining a drug inventory sufficient to meet customer demands, resolving customer service and prescribing issues, and appropriate staffing and supervision of pharmacy personnel. Also serves as Pharmacist-In-Charge for the clinic pharmacy(s). Ensures that pharmacy staff is knowledgeable about prescription plans and co-pays and ensures that follow-up to discrepancies in payment is documented and pursued.
    • Functions as a staff pharmacist filling and dispensing prescriptions, counseling patients, advising physicians about drug therapy, performs clinical pharmacist services, and all other aspects of the pharmacist position.
    • Develops, implements and evaluates clinical pharmacy programs, policies, procedures, and clinic practice agreements.
    • Performs periodic evaluation and assessment of all Pharmacy Department staff members.
    • Supervises, advises, counsels, and disciplines Pharmacy Department staff.
    • Monitors financial performance in relation to budget and implements programs and systems to enhance financial performance as directed by the Chief Operating Officer. Performs all other duties as assigned.
    • Manages and implements third-party pharmacy contracts, including wholesaler, third-party insurance, PSAO, all 340B related contracting including TPA, contract pharmacy arrangements, etc.
    • Coordinates with operations staff to ensure all pharmacy permits, licenses and pharmacy specific accreditations are maintained in good standing.
    • Responsible for personal as well as Department full compliance with all applicable federal, state and local and company rules, regulation, protocols and procedures governing the practice of Pharmacy as well as those relating to, but not limited to, personnel issues, workplace safety, public health and confidentiality.
    • Ensures that 340B policies and procedures are developed, implemented, and maintained according to organizational, regional, national, state, and federal requirements.
    • Functions as the HRSA OPAIS Primary Contact, and responsible for maintaining accuracy of listings in addition to annual recertification and addition/removal of sites and contract pharmacies.
    • May assist patients with mental illness, substance abuse problems and or/emotional disturbance.
    • Interacts in a professional manner and works collaboratively Clinicas’ staff and patients.
    • Provides excellent customer service to patients, vendors and employees.
    • Perform other duties as assigned including participation in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy.
    • Pharmacy Doctoral degree required.
    • Licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of California. A minimum of three years community and/or retail pharmacy experience.
    • Candidate must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, ability to supervise and work cooperatively with others; ability to communicate medication instructions to patient.
    • Because of the indigent and migrant types of patients seen by Clinicas, the ability to speak Spanish and English is preferred.
    • Physically must be able to walk, stand, stoop and lift (25 pounds).
    • Good manual dexterity, and visual and auditory acuity are required.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $180,000.00 - $215,000.00 per year
