Position Summary:
Participates in the development, planning, implementation, and operation of departmental projects and services; works with Board of Directors to establish short- and long-range departmental goals and objectives; assumes responsibility for day-to-day operations and assists with systems, regulatory requirements and performance improvement. This position reports to the Board of Directors for the CorsoCare Pharmacy.
Required Experience for Pharmacist Director:
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D) and 5 years experience as a staff pharmacist OR Masters degree in Pharmacy, Business or Health Care Management
- Masters degree in Pharmacy, Business or Health Care Management..
- Licensed Pharmacist
- Must have Long-Term Care experience, 5 years preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience.
Accountability for Pharmacist Director:
- Sets the overall strategy for Pharmacy growth, operations, and productivity.
- Develops operational guidelines and introduction and education of new products and procedures to the staff.
- Oversees Integration of pharmacy into new communities by coordinating of resources
- Act as the pharmacy contracts administrator for the development and implementation of key contracts and ensure that relevant performance standards are met by vendors
- Supervises the activities of pharmacy staff in conjunction with Pharmacy Practice Supervisor or Pharmacist. Clarifies work expectations and promotes staff cooperation.
- Performs the duties of a Pharmacy Practice Supervisor or Pharmacist as needed. (10%)
- Responsible for the Development and implementation and administration departmental policies and procedures. Assists with personnel activities including interviewing, staffing, corrective action, and performance appraisals.
- Participates in performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts and maintains an attitude that promotes and fosters an environment of safety.
- Assists in the development and implementation of performance improvement initiatives and oversite of regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring of the annual labor and non-labor budgets. Development and implementation of plans to control costs, including as necessary assurance that all patient daily billing is completed accurately. Assists with 340B management as applicable.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Primary Responsibilities for Pharmacist Director:
- Oversees Process Improvement and Quality Management programs and assures compliance of assigned areas of responsibility.
- Oversees the resolve of disputes, grievances, and complaints involving pharmacy program issues
- Meets regularly with the management team to plan, revise or implement new services, and/or policies and procedures.
- Meets regularly with team members to share information, provide guidance, and review and resolve issues.
- Assures compliance with Safety and Infection Control practices as well as meeting legal requirements within areas designated.
- Managing site finances and participating in budgets in coordination with VP of Finance
- Responsible for expense management and revenue pricing tables
- Manage relationships with key vendors such as pharmacy benefit management companies and pharmaceutical companies
