Being an Assistant Pharmacy Director compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals. Typically requires a master's degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy. Additionally, Assistant Pharmacy Director requires state Pharmacist License. Typically reports to top management. The Assistant Pharmacy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. The Assistant Director of Admissions assists and supports the Assistant Dean for Admissions and Student Experience and the Dean of School of Pharmacy and Physician Assistant Studies (SOPPA) with strategies, tactics, and projects related to the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of a diverse, talented student body. S/he participates in all aspects of admissions work including, but not limited to, recruitment, marketing, evaluating candidates, and organizing interviews for the Pharmacy program.
The Assistant Director of Admissions will collaborate with the Assistant Dean for Admissions and Student Experience to design and implement an effective outreach and recruitment strategy for prospective pharmacy students.
The Assistant Director will primarily manage the admissions process of the Pharmacy program; advise potential students on admission requirements; establish and administer programs for targeting and recruitment of defined groups of potential students; assist in developing marketing materials; represent the School at recruiting events;; and monitor student submission and completion of application materials. This position requires an individual with a friendly, engaging personality who is enthusiastic, has a positive attitude and a passion for the work. The candidate must also be customer service-oriented, with persistence, commitment, and the ability to motivate others.
