Description/Summary

Understands all functions of the bakery and is able to teach, coach and train in all disciplines. Supervises team/ brigade assuring that high quality product is delivered timely and appropriately to our customers. The Pastry Chef is also responsible for achieving budgeting results in sales, gross profit and sales.

• Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create a team that provides amazing customer service
• Deliver high quality products daily
• Performs all tasks required in the bakery
• Responsible for budget sales, gross profit, labor and CTO
• Understand food costs and impact on the bottom line. (Minimizing waste!)
• Work within company programs, policies and procedures.
• Foster the environment of learning and development for the team
• Promote and support established programs
• Offer a creative flair to create new products and programs
• Maintain the highest level of food safety, sanitation and cleanliness.
• Ongoing motivation of the team.
• Ordering any and all raw ingredients, supplies and equipment for the bakery
• Hire staff
• Create new formulas and recipes
• Maintain good records
• Hand-Eye coordination in the use of knives, decorating equipment and other tools.
• Demonstrate excellent technique in preparing food
• Demonstrate a great sense of taste and smell
• Excel at working in a high stress environment
• Keep current on any and all trends involving the bakery
• Other assigned duties

Qualifications:

• Successfully completed at least a 24 week or equivalent professional pastry and baking program.
• Apprentice with a certified pastry chef for a minimum of one year.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
