Overview:
Seeking a Controller for a Commercial construction company in the Fort Worth, Texas area. Company specializes in K-12, municipal, non-profit, and faith-based construction. The current company size is roughly 95 individuals with an average annual revenue of $190 million.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
- Perform account analysis and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and procedures
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other governmental filings
- Support payroll processing and related activities
- Contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff
Skills:
MUST have Commercial Construction Experience preferably with a General Contractor
- Strong knowledge of public accounting principles and practices
- Experience with regulatory reporting requirements
- Proficiency in account analysis and reconciliation
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards
- Solid understanding of debits, credits, and double-entry bookkeeping
- Financial acumen with the ability to analyze data and provide insights
- Experience working with accounting software such as VISTA or similar platforms
- Knowledge of payroll processing and related compliance requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including financial report writing
