Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and other members of the finance department to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, corporate accounting, and general ledger reconciliation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Conduct general ledger reconciliation and analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for management review
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets and forecasts
- Monitor and analyze variances between actual results and budgeted/forecasted amounts
- Ensure compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and other relevant accounting standards
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in public accounting or a similar industry
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts, including debits/credits, accounts payable, and financial analysis
- Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
